Mission Statement: Our outstanding dental team crafts a caring and low-stress dental environment. We believe providing patients with dental knowledge, prevention services, and conservative state-of-the-art dentistry leads to the connection between a healthy smile and a healthy life. The team confidently provides a broad range of restorative, emergency, and esthetic dental services. We are loyal to our practice’s tremendous legacy, and we will reinforce patients' trust in us by helping patients make educated dental decisions.
Who we serve: We are a General Dentistry practice located in the Park West neighborhood between Hillcrest and Bankers Hill in San Diego. Our practice serves many families, downtown business professionals, and retired professionals.
Legacy: 2654 4th Avenue has a long and meaningful legacy as a San Diego healthcare facility. The facility began as a pediatric physician’s office. It changed to a dental practice in the early 1960s when Drs. Carlton Williams (former ADA president) and Bernard Martin moved their dental practice into the building. Drs. Williams and Martin also had help from Dr. Robert Brown to care for many San Diego patients. For the youngest patients’ enjoyment, Dr. Martin (Dr. William’s son-in-law) built a toy box which still remains to this day; many of our patients who pulled a fun reward from the box as children now watch their children or grandchildren pull a toy from the box after a dental appointment. Drs. Fred Conrad, John Holman, and Anton Bisbas shared an orthodontics practice on the 2nd floor, which also contained a full-service dental laboratory.
The more “recent” history (~1970s to present) includes a long stretch of quality dentists including Drs. Mike Brewer, John Deal, and Mark Hansen. The partners excelled at conservative dentistry and developed their premier gold casting dental restoration skill set via a busy study club held monthly here at the facility. Around 2007 John Deal retired. With the unexpected retirements of Dr. Brewer in 2013 and Dr. Hansen in 2016, Dr. Demko and Dr. Brockett (John Deal’s nephew) were tapped to continue caring for our wonderful patients. Dr. Demko and Dr. Brockett pledge to continue the style of conservative dentistry historically performed at this practice. When dental restorations are required, they will educate patients about options ranging from “traditional” gold restorations to state-of-the-art, tooth-colored digital dentistry solutions.

Dr. Evan A. Demko
General Dentist
Evan earned his 4-year Industrial & Operations Engineering degree from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). While working several years as a Risk Management Consultant, Dr. Demko developed an interest in dentistry. Dr. Demko decided to pursue the practice of dentistry because it unified 4 of his passions including science, health, unique philanthropic opportunities, and hand skills. Dr. Demko earned his DDS from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, graduating with honors. Dr. Demko's humanistic approach to delivering high-quality dental care keeps patients comfortable. He is excited to help you make educated decisions about your customized oral healthcare needs. During the non-working hours, Evan enjoys table tennis, making people breakfast while camping, quoting movies, and spending time with his family. Dr. Demko is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), and San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS).
Jennie
Registered Dental Hygienist + Experienced Dental Assistant
Originally from Louisiana but living in San Diego since 2010, Jennie has fourteen years of experience as a dental assistant with eleven of those years at Demko Brockett Dental. She wanted to broaden her scope in the field of dentistry and went to hygiene school. After graduating, she happily rejoined the legacy practice with her new skill set ready and eager to help patients in a more involved way. Being a part of the team and supporting patients by means of oral hygiene education as well as providing a calm experience are very important to her!
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, going to see live music, cooking, doing pilates, and adventuring.
Dr. Jeffrey E. Brockett
General Dentist
Jeff is a third generation San Diegan and a third generation dentist. He graduated from the University of Southern California (Fight On!), both as an undergraduate and a graduate student, continuing his studies at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. Jeff was a Dean’s List Scholar, a member of the Order of Omega Honor Society, and a member of the Phi Delta Theta international fraternity. For Dr. Brockett, General Dentistry and continuing education is a passion. Recently, Dr. Brockett has been perfecting the art of all-porcelain restorations — which include crowns and onlays. Outside of work, Jeff appreciates fitness — running in particular — and USC football. As such, Jeff holds memberships in the Academy General Dentistry, American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society.
Theresa
Registered Dental Hygienist, BA, BS
Theresa Vernetti has been a hygienist in this practice for over twenty years. She holds bachelor’s degrees from both University of California, UC Santa Barbara, and the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. She also completed a study abroad program at the University of Granada, Spain and has visited over 51 countries in her lifetime of travel and adventure.
Her other hobbies include yoga, cooking, photography, woodworking, home repair, and playing the clarinet.
Theresa is committed to providing her patients with high-quality dental care in the office as well as the knowledge to perform the most effective preventive care at home.
